History |
This bat was owned and used by Gary Carter while playing for the Montreal Expos. Carter was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the third round of the 1972 Major League Baseball draft and had his major league debut with the Expos on September 16th, 1974. Carter was voted the "Expos Player of the Year" four times, in 1975, 1977, 1980, and 1984 and had his number retired by the Expos following his 19 year MLB career. Carter was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001 and into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown in 2003. Carter was the first Cooperstown Inductee whose plaque shows him as a Montreal Expo. |

Gary Carter a utilisé ce bâton en 1982 quand il a joué pour les Expos de Montréal. Sélectionné en 1972 au troisième tour du repêchage de la Ligue majeure de baseball, Carter fait ses débuts le 16 septembre 1974 pour les Expos. Carter a été quatre fois sélectionné le « Joueur des Expos de l’année » (en 1975, en 1977, en 1980 et en 1984). L’équipe a retiré son numéro à la fin de sa carrière de 19 saisons. En 2001, Carter est intronisé au Temple de la renommée et musée du baseball canadien, puis au Temple de la renommée du baseball à Cooperstown en 2003. Il est le premier joueur intronisé à Cooperstown qui porte une casquette des Expos sur sa plaque commémorative. |

This is a light brown bat. The bat has an unvarnished handle and a varnished barrel. There is black text engraved in the barrel. The barrel is autographed by Gary Carter in black marker. The Louisville Slugger logo is engraved at the centre of the bat. |
