This is a game-worn, set one, Oakland Athletics 1988 World Series jersey, worn by Dave McKay. McKay was the first base coach for the Oakland Athletics from 1985 - 1995.

The Oakland Athletics lost the 1988 World Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games.

Dave McKay was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in 2001.

Description

This is a white button-down polyester jersey. There are six clear plastic buttons down the placket. The jersey has green lettering applique with a gold outline on the front and reverse, as well as green lettering applique with no outline on the reverse. The front applique reads "Athletics" in a cursive script and "31" in block numbers. The reverse applique reads "McKay" in the plain green applique at the top, with a large number "31" underneath at the centre, outlined in gold. There is a small green embroidered "Rawlings" on the proper right sleeve, as well as a green, white, and red embroidered "1988 World Series" patch affixed above this. The proper left sleeve has a green patch with the Oakland Athletics logo depicting an elephant balancing on a large baseball, and holding a baseball bat with its trunk. The elephant has a gold and green embroidered "A's" blanket on its back. The inside left shirt tail has a "Rawlings" patch with the size "46" indicated, as well as care instructions. There is a small white patch with the embroidered letter "T" to the right of the logo, and a small flag tag affixed below this with the text "Set 1 1988".

Un chandail blanc à boutons, fabriqué en polyester. Il y a six boutons transparents en plastique sur la platte. Sur les deux côtés, il y a des appliqués verts avec un peu de doré qui trace le contour des appliqués. À l’avant, on trouve le mot « Athletics » avec un numéro « 31 », mais à l’arrière, il y a le nom « McKay » et un gros numéro « 31 ». Sur la manche droite, le mot « Rawlings » est brodé en vert à côté d’un écusson vert avec le logo des Athletics d’Oakland. Ce logo montre un éléphant qui essaie de se balancer sur un baseball avec un bâton dans sa trompe. L’éléphant a une couverture sur son dos qui porte le logo des Athletics d’Oakland. Cette image est brodée en verte et dorée. L’intérieur du pan de chemise gauche a un écusson de « Rawlings » avec la taille de « 46 » et les consignes de lavage. De côté droit du logo, on trouve un écusson blanc avec la lettre « T » brodée et une petite étiquette avec le texte « Set 1 1988 ».
