History

This is a white Montreal Expos jersey worn by Tony Armas. Armas was traded to the Montreal Expos from the Boston Red Sox in 1997. He played for the Expos from 1999-2004, and then for the Nationals from 2005-2006, when the team was relocated.

This jersey has a patch on the proper right sleeve which commemorates the Montreal Expos home games played in Puerto Rico in 2003.

Description

This is a white polyester button down jersey with dark blue pinstripes. There are six pearly white buttons down the placket. There is dark blue lettering applique with a red outline on the front and reverse. The front reads "Expos" in script, with a small "36" beneath the "os". The reverse reads "Armas" across the top with a large number "36" at the centre. The reverse collar has a white, blue, and red embroidered patch with the MLB logo. The proper left sleeve has a red, blue, and white circular patch with the Montreal Expos logo. Beneath this patch, by the edge of the sleeve, is a small dark blue and red embroidered "Russell Athletic" logo. The proper right sleeve has a blue, red, white, and black circular patch which commemorates games played in Puerto Rico. The patch depicts a flagpole with two waving flags on either side of it: the Expos logo on the proper right side, and the Puerto Rican flag on the proper left side. The text on the patch reads "Series De Los Expos De Montreal" and "San Juan, Puerto Rico 2003". There is a small MLB logo embroidered under the flagpole. The proper left shirt tail has a white patch with the "Russell Athletic" logo and care information. There are two small flag tags affixed to the bottom of this patch which indicate the fabric is polyester, the size is "48", and list alterations to the jersey.

Un chandail blanc à boutons et à rayures fines. Il y a six boutons blancs sur la platte. Sur les deux côtés, il y a un appliqué en bleu foncé avec un peu de rouge qui trace le contour de l’appliqué. À l’avant du chandail, on trouve le mot « Expos » et un petit numéro « 36 », mais à l’arrière, il y a le nom « Armas » et un plus grand numéro « 36 ». Sur la manche à droite, on trouve un écusson avec deux drapeaux, le premier des Expos, et le deuxième de l’état de Porto Rico. Un petit logo de la MLB se trouve en dessous de ces drapeaux.
