"Né dans la foulée de la St. Marys Bat Company et de Cooper Bats, KR3 était le résultat du directeur de l'usine Cooper, Ross Huehn, basé à Kitchener, en Ontario. Au début des années 2000, KR3 a commencé à distribuer des bâtons à des équipes de baseball américaines indépendantes et à en fabriquer pour d'autres marques, ainsi que pour le Temple de la renommée du baseball canadien (fournissant chaque année des bâtons commémoratifs d’inductions). En février 2001, KR3 a reçu sa licence de la Ligue majeure, devenant par la suite le fournisseur officiel de bâtons de la Ligue canadienne de baseball en 2003. En janvier 2011, les bâtons de KR3 ont été approuvés pour le jeu dans la MLB. En 2014, les bâtons KR3 Pro Quality ont été distribués publiquement, et leurs bâtons en bois composite étaient disponibles dans le monde entier. Description |
A Howie Birnie signed baseball bat autographed in advance of his 2024 CBHFM induction. Bat is light wood which is varnished with a clear varnish on the barrel, but raw wood on the handle. The KR3 "Made in Canada" oval logo is at the taper of the bat above a silver sticker with "St. Marys 100th Anniversary / 1908 / 2008" written on it which encircles the taper at where the varnish begins. The CBHFM logo is next to the KR3 logo as a clear sticker adhered to the varnish layer. "2024 Canadian Baseball / Hall of Fame Inductee Honoured June 15, 2024 / St. Marys, Ontario, Canada" is inscribed into the centre of the barrel of the bat. Nearer the end of the barrel is insribed "Induction Limited Edition / Howard Birnie" with a gap in between for an autograph. Birnie has autographed the bat in black sharpie in that gap. The end of the knob is stamped "1 of 100." |

Un bâton de baseball signé par Howie Birnie, autographié avant son entrée au CBHFM en 2024. Le bâton est en bois clair, vernie sur le baril, mais est en bois brut sur le manche. Le logo ovale KR3 « Made in Canada » est situé au milieu du bâton, au-dessus d'un autocollant argenté portant l'inscription « St. Marys 100th Anniversary / 1908 / 2008 » qui entoure le bâton à l'endroit où commence le vernis. Le logo du CBHFM est placé à côté du logo KR3, sous forme d'une étiquette transparente collée sur la couche de vernis. L'inscription « 2024 Canadian Baseball / Hall of Fame Inductee Honoured June 15, 2024 / St. Marys, Ontario, Canada » est gravée au centre du baril du bâton. Plus près de l'extrémité du baril, on retrouve l'inscription « Induction Limited Edition / Howard Birnie » avec un espace entre les deux pour l'autographe. Birnie a autographié le bâton avec un sharpie noir dans cet espace. L'extrémité du manche est estampillée « 1 of 100 ». |
