History |
Gary Carter wore these leg guards playing for the Montreal Expos. Carter was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the third round of the 1972 Major League Baseball draft and had his major league debut with the Expos on September 16th, 1974. Gary Carter was the best catcher in Expos' history. He participated in 7 All-Star Games with the Expos and was voted the "Expos Player of the Year" four times, in 1975, 1977, 1980, and 1984. Carter played for the Expos from 1974-1984, and again in 1992, his final season. Following his 19 year MLB career, the Expos retired his number in 2003. Carter was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001 and into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown in 2003. Carter was the first Cooperstown Inductee whose plaque shows him as a Montreal Expo. |

En 2001, Carter est intronisé au Temple de la renommée et musée du baseball canadien, puis au Temple de la renommée du baseball à Cooperstown en 2003. Description |
This pair of red leg guards was worn by Gary Carter while playing for the Montreal Expos. The leg guards extend from just above the knee to just above the ankle. The guards have hard plastic shields on the outer side, attached to a leather and foam backing with metal studs. Both guards have the manufacturer's branding and patent number printed in gold just below the knee. The text reads "Ampac LG21W-PRO" and "PAT. NO. 4692946". Gary Carter autographed both guards just below this text. There are red straps with metal buckles to attach the guards to the player's legs. |

Des jambières portées par Gary Carter quand il a joué pour les Expos de Montréal. Ces jambières couvrent le genou jusqu’à la cheville. L’extérieur de chaque jambière est fabriqué en plastique dur. Les intérieurs ont une pièce de renforcement en cuir et mousse attachée aux boutons métalliques. En dessus de chaque genou, on trouve les informations du fabricant écrit en doré et le numéro du brevet. Il dit « AMPACE LG21W-PRO / PAT. NO. 4692946 ». Ici, Gary Carter a autographié les jambières. Les lanières rouges aux boucles métalliques attachent les jambières au joueur. |
