This coat was worn by Canadian singer Anne Murray at the Toronto Blue Jays' first game on April 7, 1977. Murray performed "O Canada" before the start of this game. The Toronto Blue Jays first home game, against the Chicago White Sox at Exhibition Stadium, was the very first American League baseball game to be played on Canadian soil. |

C’est un manteau porté par Anne Murray, une chanteuse canadienne, au premier match des Blue Jays de Toronto le 7 avril 1977. Murray a chanté « Ô Canada » avant le début du match. Les Blue Jays de Toronto ont joué leur premier match local au stade de l'Exposition nationale contre les White Sox de Chicago. Ce match était la première fois qu’un match de baseball de la Ligue américaine s’est déroulé au Canada. |
Description |
This is a red coat with white faux fur at the edge of the sleeves, the bottom hem, and around the hood. The coat has two layers, a red felt/wool undercoat and a red nylon overcoat which has blue, red, and white detailing around the pockets and the bottom hem. Both layers have a hood, front pockets, and a gold metal zipper going up the front. The fur trim is attached to the red wool undercoat layer. The red wool layer has white animal detailing on its pockets and by the bottom fur trim. The pockets each have a bird perched on a branch, and the bottom trim has two seals facing the zipper closure. There is a light blue manufacturer patch at the inside collar. The patch reads "HANDCRAFTED IN THE CANADIAN ARCTIC BY THE INUVIK SEWING CENTRE". Beneath this is a small white flag tag reading "18". |

Un manteau rouge qui a les bords de ses manches, l’ourlet et le capuchon bordé en fausse fourrure blanche. Ce manteau a deux couches, une sous-couche rouge de la laine et un pardessus en rouge brillant. Le pardessus a des détailles bleues, rouges et blanches sur les pochettes et l’ourlet. Les deux couches ont un capuchon, des pochettes et une fermeture éclair fabriquée en métal doré. La sous-couche est bordée de fausse fourrure où elle s’est attachée. La couche de laine a un animal blanc sur ses pochettes et à côté de la fourrure. Chaque pochette montre un oiseau qui s’est perché sur une branche et le bord inférieur a deux phoques qui se tournent vers la fermeture éclair. |
