This is a Chatham Coloured All-Stars Toronto Blue Jays replica jersey.

The Toronto Blue Jays commemorated the Chatham Coloured All-Stars team by wearing these jerseys in 2001 and 2002 for a few games. The Chatham Coloured All-Stars played in the 1930s and won the OBA Championship in 1934. On Sunday, July 15, 2001, the Toronto Blue Jays wore Chatham All-Stars replica jerseys in a game at Shea Stadium against the New York Mets, who wore the jerseys of the New York Cubans. This was a special tribute to the Negro leagues and their contribution to baseball. In 2002, the Blue Jays paid tribute to the All-Stars again by wearing their replica jerseys in a home game on Saturday, July 13 vs Boston. Descendants of some of the All-Stars were featured at the game, with the last two surviving members, Sagasta Harding and Don Tabron, throwing the opening pitch, along with Earl "Flat" Chase’s son, Horace.

Description

This is a grey polyester button-down jersey with navy pinstripes. There are six dark grey plastic buttons down the placket. The jersey has red and gold applique on the front of the jersey in the shape of a "C" with a star inside it. The "C" is red, and the star is gold. The reverse has navy applique reading "58". The edges of the sleeves, the collar, and the placket are lined with a navy piping. The proper left sleeve has a Toronto Blue Jays logo circa 1997-2002, which depicts a blue jays head on a baseball over a red maple leaf. The proper left shirt tail has a black patch with a "Rawlings" logo. The inside collar has a white flag tag with a "Rawlings" logo and the size "48" indicated.
