History |
Gary Carter wore this chest protector while playing for the Montreal Expos. Carter was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the third round of the 1972 Major League Baseball draft and had his major league debut with the Expos on September 16th, 1974. Gary Carter was the best catcher in Expos' history. He participated in 7 All-Star Games with the Expos and was voted the "Expos Player of the Year" four times, in 1975, 1977, 1980, and 1984. Carter played for the Expos from 1974-1984, and again in 1992, his final season. Following his 19 year MLB career, the Expos retired his number in 2003. Carter was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001 and into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown in 2003. Carter was the first Cooperstown Inductee whose plaque shows him as a Montreal Expo. |

Gary Carter a porté ce protecteur de poitrine quand il a joué pour les Expos de Montréal. Gary Carter est le meilleur receveur dans l’histoire des Expos. Il a été quatre fois sélectionné le « Joueur des Expos de l’année » (en 1975, en 1977, en 1980 et en 1984). Il a joué pour les Expos de 1974 à 1984, et pendant sa dernière saison dans la MLB en 1992. L’équipe a retiré son numéro à la fin de sa carrière de 19 saisons. En 2001, Carter est intronisé au Temple de la renommée et musée du baseball canadien, puis au Temple de la renommée du baseball à Cooperstown en 2003. Description |
This is a red chest protector worn by Gary Carter. It has a foam guard near the neck which was autographed by Gary Carter in black marker. The chest protector is wider at the proper left shoulder than it is at the right. The left shoulder has the white word "ALL-STAR". There are two straps, one at the back of the neck, and one at the stomach, which attach around the wearer with metal clasps. These straps have foam pads on them, and are adjustable. There is one pad at the neck, and two at the stomach. One of the stomach pads has a red, blue, and white patch with the MLB logo, while the other has a black patch with the manufacturer information. |

Un protecteur de poitrine rouge utilisé pour un match par Gary Carter. Il a autographié son nom en feutre noir sur la mousse du protecteur, près du cou. L’épaule gauche du protecteur est plus grande que l’épaule droite. Les mots « ALL-STAR » (étoilé) sont écrits sur l’épaule gauche. Il y a une sangle à l’arrière du cou et une autre sangle au ventre qui s’attachent avec des fermoirs en métal. Ces sangles-ci sont réglables et leurs arrières sont rembourrées de la mousse. Un rembourrage est sur le cou et on trouve deux rembourrages au ventre. Un des rembourrages au ventre montre un écusson rouge, bleu et blanc du logo de la MLB. L’autre rembourrage au ventre montre un écusson noir qui donne les informations relatives à la fabrication. |
