History

This Toronto Blue Jays Ernie Whitt jersey is a set two, game-ready, road jersey.

Ernie Whitt played for the Toronto Blue Jays from 1977-1978 and 1980-1989. After his playing career, Whitt served as both the Blue Jays' bench coach and first base coach, beginning in 2005. Whitt also managed Team Canada in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens; the World Baseball Classic in 2006, 2009, 2013, and 2017; and the Pan Am games in 2011 and 2015.

Whitt was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009.

Description

This is a grey polyester button down jersey with black, blue, and silver embroidered lettering applique on the front and back. The embroidery on the front reads "Toronto". There are six light grey buttons down the front placket. The proper left sleeve has a small black "Majestic" logo embroidered directly into it. The collar has a grey patch with the numbers and text: "12 07 S2" stitched into it, indicating the player number, the year, and the uniform set. A "Majestic" label is stitched at the bottom right of the front of the jersey. The reverse has "Whitt" and "12" in the top centre in black, blue, and silver embroidered applique. There is a small white, silver, and blue MLB logo patch sewn on the back of the collar. Ernie Whitt autographed the jersey in blue marker between the "1" and "2". A flag tag is sewn to the inner seam of the jersey, near the "Majestic" patch.

Un chandail gris à boutons, fabriqué en polyester. Il y a six boutons gris clair sur la platte. Sur les deux côtés du chandail, on trouve des appliqués noirs, bleus et blancs. À l’avant, il y a le nom « Toronto », mais à l’arrière, on trouve un grand numéro « 12 » au centre en dessus du nom « Whitt ». Brodé sur la manche gauche, il y a un petit logo noir de « Majestic ». L’intérieur du col contient un écusson gris qui donne les numéros suivants : « 12 07 S2 ». Ces numéros indiquent que ce chandail est le deuxième dans la collection en 2007, utilisé par le joueur qui portait le numéro « 12 ». L’extérieur du col montre un petit logo de la MLB brodé en blanc, argenté et bleu. Une étiquette de « Majestic » s’est fixée au coin inférieur droit du front du chandail. Ernie Whitt a autographié son nom en feutre bleu entre les deux numéros à l’arrière du chandail. Une petite étiquette est cousue à l’intérieur du chandail, près de l’écusson de « Majestic ».
